REGISTRATION IS NOW CLOSED
The Ninja Warriors Tournament is a sparring tournament for Spirit of the Dragon students held right in our school. Our goal is to give non-tournament students a chance to try the tournament scene without having to commit to tournament classes, purchasing equipment or traveling.

Here are some FAQs to help you understand what to expect at this fun event:
Who can attend?
All Spirit of the Dragons students, ages 3-15, are welcome! Our instructors will be judging and are happy to help the newer students understand the tournament rules and scoring.
What equipment is needed?
We will supply equipment for those who do not have any - so no extra purchase is required.
What do competitors wear?
We ask students to arrive in their uniform and belt. Uniforms should be clean and nails should be trimmed. All jewelry should be removed.
Are spectators welcome?
Absolutely!!! We love to see families support their little ones! There is no charge for spectators, but we will have a collection at the door for donations for our Lil' Dragon's Student Association. Funds are used to provide equipment for our students as well as helping families in need throughout the season.

What time do we need to arrive?
We ask all competitors to arrive prior to 9:30am to be ready for bow in at 9:30. Older students will compete later in the day, but we ask them to arrive for bow in and to be there to cheer on and possibly help out with the younger groups. It is meant to be a team building event for all of our students and instructors.
What time will my child compete?
Unfortunately there is no way for us to predict the length of time a division will take. We do ask all registered students are there for bow in at 9:30am. After that, we will start with the youngest and lowest belts (5 & under) and work our way up the age groups.
Who will my child be sparring?
The divisions are split into 2 year age brackets and belt rank categories according to the Saskatchewan Martial Arts Association.
Age groups are as follows: 5 & under, 6 -7 years, 8-9 years, 10-11 years, 12-13 years, and 14-15 years. Divisions with many children will be split into smaller groups to allow everyone to have a great tournament experience. Older, or higher age groups with smaller numbers may be combined to allow everyone to get some exciting competition.
How do I know if my child is ready?
Being an in-house tournament, our instructors are readily available to help out all new students if they are nervous or unsure of the procedures. If you are still unsure if the Winter Warriors is a good fit for your child; shoot as an email, or give us a call and we would be happy to discuss.
What do children win?
Medals are awarded for the 1st through 3rd place winners with participation medals for ages 9 & under, white/yellow belts. We feel that students ages 10+, or orange belt and higher are mature enough and have enough sportsmanship training to not need participation medals.
